What a weekend! The area hosted not only 1, but 2 have a go days taught by Gill Greenwood. The two events were run for people with their own horses wanting to try side saddle. However, if you do not have a horse and want to try side saddle, please visit our riding schools page to find out more.
Saturday was held at Thornton House Farm near Barmby Moor, York which saw both complete novices and established riders attend. Every new horse and rider did brilliantly with both settling into side saddle. Established riders also had a go at something new! Area members Gemma, Elsie, Lola and Jill all tried show jumping side saddle.

Conversely, Sunday’s event was held at Brigg View Farm near Filey. The two riders who attended both did brilliantly with both cantering on their first go side saddle!

A huge thank you to Sam at Thornton House and Becky at Brigg View for their use of the facilities at both equestrian centres. Additionally, thank you to everyone who attended, we cannot run events successfully without the support of attendees.
