Performance Points

As well as the National Side Saddle Performance Points, Area 19 also runs a performance points league for area members. Both full and associate members of the SSA are able to join.

It costs £5 to enter and you gain points every time you ride side saddle, whether competing in a class at the Nationals to participating in an unaffiliated dressage competitions.

How to take part:

Gain points throughout the year by competing, going to clinics and being part of our display team. Choose a category from the below table of events a category and input the points gained. A show official must sign the card to confirm your attendance and result.

Only events attended physically will be counted, not virtual shows or photo competitions.

Points cannot be backdated for events prior to the purchase of a card.

You can gain an additional 5 points every time you are placed against astride riders. Just put a +5 in the margins.

Non-owners who partner with a riding school horse/pony for this scheme, gain 10 points for each lesson taken.

Long-term loaners compete as owners do.

Category B: jumping heights under 40cm are counted as clear round and earn participation points because many clear round classes are higher than 40cm.

Championships:

Showing Championships (and similar) where only Champion and Reserve awarded – 50/40 points awarded for these two.

Championships involving an extra test or jumping round, etc (e.g. the Port Royal Championships involving 2 further dressage tests with places to 6^th)  gain the placing points as in other classes.

How to submit

Points cards must be posted to the joint secretaries 10 days prior to the AGM for checking before the awards ceremony. Please write legibly. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
