Congratulations to our two area members who took part in the Side Saddle Association Online Equitation Series. This event took place over 6 months between October and March. In this competition the the entrant films themselves performing the equitation test they wished before uploading to Youtube. This even had a change of tests when the new year came around, so not only did they have to battle with the weather but also a new test to learn!
Julia and Back Lane Stables Gloria competed in the October submission gaining some valuable comments to develop from. Unfortunately the riding school element of the championship was not included until November and due to the poor weather Julia was unable to film another test to be included in this section. Gill Greenwood and Moreton Hall Storming Norman managed to submit a test every month. Both competed in a short arena test indoors, and the rest doing the long arena tests once Gill had found an outdoor big enough locally to her. Again Gill had to battle the elements sometimes only finding 1 day in a month where the weather and surface conditions were good enough to film her test.
In the overall championship Gill and Storm came a very respectable 7th with Julia and Gloria coming 16th.
